International Consultants


CASP maintains a formal agreement with numerous international consultants. The objective is to provide continuous training to CASP Specialists in order to keep them up to date in innovative programs, teaching processes and to maintain the high quality services we offer.

Mary H. Aangeenbrug, M.A.

CASP Master Professor. Associated Professor, retired, of the University of Kansas. She developed the CASP reading and writing program with Dr. Judith LeBlanc and the CASP team. Advisor for the reading, writing and math programs.

Andrew Bondy, Ph.D.

Creator of the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS). President and co-founder of Pyramid Educational Consultants, Inc. Advisor on the implementation of PECS which was first used in Peru through CASP.

Dr. Gisella Campos

Consultant in Psychiatry. Psychiatrist graduate from the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia. Specialist in treatment of people with different abilities.

Dr. Oswaldo Cava

Consultant in Dentistry. Dental surgeon graduate from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. Specialist in dental treatment of people with different abilities. A pioneer in the creation of the specialty of Dentistry for people with different abilities in the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos.

Lori Frost, M.S., CCC/SLP

Co-Creator of the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS). Vice-President and co-founder of Pyramid Educational Consultants, Inc. Advisor on the implementation of PECS.

David Gast, Ph.D.

Professor of Special Education, University of Georgia. Advisor on teaching procedures and research design.

Eva Horn, Ph.D.

Professor of Special Education, University of Kansas. Advisor for Early Childhood program.

Linda Lawrence, M.D.

Ophthalmologist for people with different abilities of the Eye Clinic of Salina, Kansas. Founder of the Amaranth Foundation. Develops projects for the Medical Center of the University of Kansas.

Judith M. LeBlanc, Ph.D.

Head Consultant of CASP since 1982. Professor Emeritus of the Departments of Applied Behavioral Sciences and Special Education of the University of Kansas, and International Coordinator of the Schieflelbusch Institute for Life Span Studies. Together with the CASP team, she created the Functional-Natural Curriculum.

Dr. Jorge Lembcke, Msc

Pediatrician of the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia. Has a Master’s degree in Human Nutrition at the Institute of Nutrition of Central America and Panama (INCAP), and performs private practice as a physician consultant in Pediatric Nutrition.

Christy Lynch, M.A.

Member of the Special Education Board of Ireland.

Carey Matsuba M.D.

Pediatrician specializing in children with impaired vision at the University of British Columbia - Vancouver, Canada.

Dr. María Isabel Quiroga de Michelena

Genetics consultant. Medical Doctor specialized in Medical Genetics. Senior professor of the Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, founding member and ex president of the Peruvian Society of Medical Genetics. Director of Medical Center of Genetics and member of the National Academy of Medicine.

Carolyn Schroeder, Ph.D.

Clinical Psychologist. Retired Associate Professor, University of Kansas. Board Member, Annie Sullivan Enterprises, Inc. Specialist in behavioral approaches to development; sexual and social behavior.

Dr. Erika Stürmann de Freundt-Thurne

Consultant in Pediatric Neurology, who graduated in Medicine at the University of Tübingen, Germany. Has done her residency in Germany and has a specialization in Pediatrics at Temple University in Philadelphia (American Board of Pediatric). Performed her fellowship in Pediatric Neurology at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada, and performs private practice in Lima since 1973.

Associate Director of  the Community Living Organization, Kansas. Research Coordinator, University of Kansas. Specialist in Adult Community Living programs, Management, Planning and Organization. Advisor on improvement of educational programs.

Glen White, Ph.D.

Professor and Senior Scientist in the Department of Applied Behavioral Science at the University of Kansas. He currently directs the Research and Training Center on Independent Living and has conducted research and training in Peru since 1997. Program Director of the University of Kansas study abroad course "Peruvian Culture and Disability Lima & Cusco, Peru".
