Programs for Students and Families

Are you ready to see the full potential of the person with different abilities in your life? At Centro Ann Sullivan del Perú (CASP), we offer programs for people with different abilities of all ages and levels and their families. Our goal is for your child to be fully included in their community, in a regular school, and in a real job.

Our programs are tailored to the specific needs of your family.

We know that each person with different abilities and their family has specific needs, and so we have created a series of complementary programs that allow us to help you as much as possible. Some features of our programs include:

  • The use of our Functional-Natural Curriculum based on ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis).

  • Offered in person at our headquarters in Lima or virtually for all of Peru and the Spanish-speaking community worldwide.

  • Participation in our monthly “School of Families” conferences.

*Note: Although most of our programs are currently geared toward Spanish-speaking families, we offer customized in-person and virtual programs to English-speaking families through our “Individual Consulting Program.”

Individual Consulting Program

In our individual consultations, we focus on the priorities that the family has identified for their children, including reducing inappropriate behaviors and teaching new skills.

This program consists of individual one-hour sessions led by one of our specialists. The number of sessions is customized to your needs, from one session per month to one or more times per week. Sessions can be in-person, virtual, in the family's home, or a mix of modalities.

*Note: Offered to both Spanish and English-speaking families.

Family Education Program

Our experience of over 40 years of training families has shown us the effectiveness of empowering families to become the best teachers for their children and the value of small-group instruction.

Our Family Education program consists of two-hour sessions led by one of our specialists, where we group students and their families by age into groups of a maximum of 5 families. In this way, the students and their families learn not only from our specialists but from the progress of other students and their families.

*Note: Currently only offered to Spanish-speaking families.

“School of Families” Conferences

All families participating in our Programs for Students and Families have access to our “School of Families” series of conferences.

Conferences are delivered virtually once a month, are two hours long, and include a keynote presentation on topics of interest to the community of people with different abilities and a small-group session.

*Note: Conferences are currently only given live in Spanish.

Education for Independent Life

Our Education for Independent Life Program prepares students to have the necessary skills to be fully included in the different aspects of daily life (family, community, school, and/or work).

The program consists of a regular class schedule from Monday to Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., where we group students by age and similar abilities.

*Note: This program is only offered in-person and in Spanish at our Lima headquarters.

School Inclusion Program

Our School Inclusion program facilitates the successful inclusion of children and young people with different abilities in regular schools, from preschool to secondary level.

We offer training to regular school teachers, providing them with strategies for teaching skills and appropriate behaviors in the classroom.

Students and their families also participate in small-group education sessions, where they are taught skills that prepare them for life.

*Note: Currently only offered to Spanish-speaking families.

Supported Employment Program

Our Supported Employment program facilitates the successful inclusion of people with different abilities in real jobs through an analysis of the job, the implementation of necessary adaptations for the worker, a series of training sessions for the hiring company, the positioning of additional help if necessary, and the monitoring and maintenance of the worker.

*Note: Currently only offered to Spanish-speaking families.
